Atlas Response provides school safety and emergency-response tools for schools and school districts. This Privacy Policy explains how Atlas Response (“Atlas Response,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when people use our mobile applications, managed staff tablet experience, administrative tools, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
Schools and districts determine how Atlas Response is configured and used. When we process student, staff, attendance, or incident information for a school, we do so as a service provider acting on the school’s instructions and under the applicable agreement.

3. How we disclose information
We may disclose information:
- To the applicable school or district. Authorized administrators and users may access information according to permissions established by the school or district.
- To service providers. Vendors that help us host, secure, support, analyze, or operate the Services may process information only for those purposes and subject to appropriate obligations.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights and safety, investigate misuse, or address an emergency.

- With direction or consent. We may disclose information when the relevant school, district, or user directs or authorizes us to do so.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use student information for targeted advertising.
4. Student information and school records
Atlas Response is designed for use under the direction of schools and districts. A school or district is responsible for providing required notices, obtaining any necessary permissions, configuring authorized users, and responding to requests concerning education records. Parents, guardians, students, and school staff should direct requests concerning school-controlled information to the relevant school or district.
Where applicable, we handle education records as a school official or service provider for the school, consistent with contractual requirements and applicable student-privacy laws. This policy is not intended to replace a district’s own privacy notice or agreement with Atlas Response.
5. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, meet the instructions and contractual requirements of schools and districts, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Retention periods may vary by information type and district configuration. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include access controls, secure communications, monitoring, and practices appropriate to the nature of the information. No system can guarantee absolute security, and users should protect account credentials and promptly report suspected misuse.
7. Your choices and requests
Users may update certain account information through the Services or through their school administrator. Requests to access, correct, delete, or restrict school-controlled information should be submitted to the relevant school or district. For information Atlas Response controls directly, contact us using the method below. We may need to verify a request and may retain information when required by law or a valid institutional need.
Device permissions can be managed through device settings. Disabling a permission may limit features that depend on it.
8. Children’s privacy
The Services are provided to students only through participating schools and are not directed to children for independent consumer use. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child outside a school-authorized context. If you believe information was collected from a child outside that context, please contact us.
9. International users
Atlas Response is intended primarily for schools in the United States. If information is transferred across jurisdictions, we take steps designed to provide protections appropriate to the information and applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our Services or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. We may provide additional notice when a material change affects how information is used.
